English Version of C-ICA (Version 1.0) Released
To boost technological innovation in intelligent chassis and the high-quality development of the industry, and promote the automotive industry to advance toward higher safety and intelligence, the Automotive Test & Assessment Management Center of China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co.,Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CATC") has officially released China Intelligent Chassis Assessment Programme (C-ICA)(Version 1.0).
1 Background and Significance
China's automotive industry has entered a critical stage of high-quality transformation marked by the in-depth integration of electrification, intelligence and connectivity. Its industrial development model is rapidly evolving from the manufacturing of traditional mechanical transportation tools into a brand-new business format featuring the research and development, production and service of intelligent mobile terminals.
As the core technological foundation of new-generation intelligent vehicles, the intelligent chassis integrates pivotal functions including vehicle driving control, safety protection, riding adjustment and energy efficiency optimization. It serves as the core carrier that guarantees safe, stable, comfortable, energy-efficient driving of automobiles. Furthermore, it acts as a key breakthrough point to break through bottlenecks in the intelligent upgrading of vehicles and shape differentiated competitive edges for complete vehicle products.
Formulated in precise alignment with industrial development demands, this specification is fully rooted in the real vehicle usage scenarios, travel habits and experience demands of Chinese consumers, closely follows the iteration trends of core intelligent chassis technologies and the pace of industrial application, and incorporates extensive input from domestic and foreign vehicle manufacturers, industrial institutions, Tier 1 suppliers and other stakeholders. It aims to establish a scientific, rigorous evaluation system for intelligent chassis that conforms to the actual vehicle usage conditions of Chinese users.
2 Main Content
The China Intelligent Chassis Assessment Program is built around core user experience and technological development trends, establishing four key dimensions: handling friendliness, comfort and convenience, responsive agility, and safety assurance, comprehensively covering the core performance dimensions of intelligent chassis.
The evaluation indicators fully consider configuration penetration rate, functional value, and the driving effect of evaluation technologies, and assign differentiated scoring weights. Scientific test methods are designed for full scenarios such as daily commuting, complex road conditions, and extreme operating conditions, and evaluation thresholds are reasonably set based on industry technological development levels, presenting intelligent chassis performance in the form of star ratings and quantitative scores.

The C-ICA(Version 1.0) officially came into effect on July 1, 2026.
